Yale - Harvard and Chad Morris

Postby ponyswim » Sat Nov 22, 2014 1:00 pm

FYI, Morgan Roberts the Yale QB is a Chad Morris recruit/Clemson Transfer.
More interesting to watch than SMU-UCF.

If you haven't been to a Harvard/Yale game, it is a great experience.

Harvard's stadium is barely bigger than the field and you end up sitting very close to the field.

Next Year, I plan on taking my 4 year old to the Yale Bowl for a game.

I went to some Cornell games when I lived in Ithaca. Fun sitting in the snow filled stands drinking hot buttered rum.

I have been to a bunch growing up in New Haven. Spent a lot of time at Yale Bowl.
They had some really good teams in the 60's especially before they cut male enrollment when women were admitted.

Harvard and Yale have so much money that they offer "no loan" financial aid to everyone based upon need. Thus, for working class families, they essentially offer full rides to players.

As a result, Harvard is getting very good FB and BB recruits. Yale is the no [deleted] National Champion in Hockey.

For players considerng AAC or CUSA offers, Harvard and Yale are a great deal if you can do the class work.

Choice: UNT, LaTech, Memphis, USF or two of the best schools in the world?

Depends on how much they want to play FBS football.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

There was an article a few years ago about how Notre Dame was having some difficulty recruiting because many recruits didn't care so much about getting a "prestigious" degree. Sure, they could go to Harvard, Yale, or Notre Dame and bust their tails for 4-5 years trying to keep their heads above water in the classroom. Or they could go to UL Monroe, UNT, USF, etc. and skate by on the easiest of classes, party it up in Tampa/Dallas/somewhere not frigid for 5 years, and then STILL have a shot at going to the NFL.

Short-sighted? Absolutely, but I'd put some money down that certain kids would rather play at UNT than Yale for the reasons listed above.

For kids with academic issues, UNT would be the best choice. For kids who are strong enough students, Yale/Harvard would be a great choice.
