What exactly happened with Martin?

Postby SMUstangs22 » Sat Nov 22, 2014 11:03 pm

I couldn't tell from where I was sitting. Saw him go off the court on crutches though.

He was limping and then just went down after the next possession.

Obviously, it didn't look good. Hopefully we get some word tomorrow or Monday.

Is it possible it was a dive for a break in the game? I doubt it but a couple people around me thought so

He had to have people help him off the court, so I highly doubt he was milking it to any degree.

Your thinking of a tactic often used by our former football coach although the bag of ice taped to the knee would have been a nice touch to make it seem more realistic.

He was coming off recent ankle or foot surgery.

They had his knee wrapped with an ice bag.

Definitely something with his right knee...he put zero weight on it leaving the court, and I saw George Lynch point to his knee, when telling someone else about it, after helping JMart off the court.

His injury seemed to occur without anyone else nearby, or without any serious cutting movement. When knee injuries like that happen out of nowhere, it can often end up being an ACL or MCL problem. Sure didn't look promising to me.

Knee strain is what I heard.

How long will a knee strain keep him out?

Strain = muscle. Sprain=ligament /joint. Knee sprain needs mri to rule out complete tear. If a sprain 3-12wks depending on grade
