Where the [I'll just delete this myself] were you 5 years ago when there were 6-700 fans in the stands? Protecting the home court advantage were you. Sanctimonious little bollocks'.
My seats are 5 times the cost they were when Matt Doherty was calling the shots and I have to do what ever I can to recoup the costs of this season. I'll make no apology for it. Some have the luxury to be able to eat tickets to these games, but I sure can't. And if you feel that strongly about it why don't you get on Stubhub and buy up the tickets yourself?
Our fans are the worst.
I agree 100%. Good post.

well i disagree 100%. college sports is different then pros - you want to sell you cowboy seats on stub hub that is great - knock yourself out. its a huge building and its only pro sports so nobody really cares.
But fans support college sports due to emotion and loyalty - and we have a very tight building that is a huge advantage for us - one of only a few advantages. When quasi fans want to try to make money off our popularity and the result is a lessor environment, then yeah….its a problem. Good fans never let opposing fans in their seats. period. It is also a crappy thing to do to your ticket neighbors, and i would hope nobody would do that to me. I don't want to listen to some obnoxious pig for 2 hours so you can make 30 bucks on your season ticket. Go get a part time job if you need the money.
And for what its worth i was there for doherty era, dement era, shumate era etc… So yeah - i trump you on attendance i guarantee you.

Agree with Mustangsabu and it was fun to hear a few live woooo pig sooies again after about 15 years or so. First heard that at my first SMU football game when I was 10 years old, and while in school we would just yell FOOIE for sooie
May the forth be with us.

Part of the problem is 120+ seats are owned by a broker. That's one reason (among a few) for the coming "reseating"

More than one broker probably. And they are in some prime seating areas.

I am not privileged to have season tickets to basketball so to some extent this thread doesn't apply to me. This game was just before a holiday and many people are leaving town or busy getting things ready for the feast like I was. I would suggest that of the 6000+ season ticket holders, the vast majority do not ever come to PF.com and thus don't know how to offer their unused tickets to SMU fans first here, though I'm not sure that even if they did that there would be enough takers here to buy them all up. I also think there may be a fair number of season ticket holders that are not SMU affiliated, but just love college basketball.
Personally, for football, if I can't find an SMU fan to give my tickets to when on the rare occasion I can't make a game, I don't try to sell them on the open market...I just eat them. I'm in section 104 and more times than not the opposing teams fans are all around me. Irritates the hell out of me...especially when they are Tech fans.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Think you can go to any college basketball game and there will be some fans of the opposing school. Interesting that some are [deleted] about a few Arkansas fans at Moody, but in football, we [deleted] when fans of big time programs don't buy up the 70+% of Ford that is available.

I'm only talking about one specific section. You're right, other brokers have some other prime seats too

I understand trying to offset some of the season ticket cost by selling a few games. I see no problem with doing this when you have a conflict or just don't feel like going. Happens everywhere and it was not an issue last night. We play better we never even know their fans are there last night.
There are 842 tickets available on Stub Hub for the Michigan game so this goes on everywhere. Be thankful that there is a market for them. Means we are doing something right.

Need to get over it. In 1990's there were 85% Hogs, A&M, etc or any old Moody game -- like a home game. We have a good thing and hardly any opposing fans can get tickets. Hardly heard them and they should have been louder kicking our @ss.

I believe 210 is where I see a lot of opposing fans.
