How many people are considered "long term season ticket holders"? What kind of minimum donations are being talked about for the rest?

price actions like this are just so 'SMU'. and then the admin wonders why they can't get a lot of alums to donate money or support the athletic programs.
Obviously none of us know what the reality will be. However, based on past history I would expect the worst.

I don't know. What I do know is they'll mask the ticket price raises. For example, seat in Section 112, Row 5, Seat 1. Let's just say that cost $500 for the season ticket this year. Well they'll do something along the lines of $500 for the seat still, but your donation is now $2,000 per seat.

Yeah, it's going to be bad. And with the per-seat donation they are going to add I wonder if they are going to force you to use your first donation on football tickets.

It's going to anger the real supporters of SMU for a short-term monetary gain.

I'd still pay more for my seats, but they need to be careful here. And I would hope they would protect young alums who bought tickets after graduation as "long time" ticket holders. This is my 3rd year, I've owned seats every year since graduating

or you could just wait and see what the new criteria will really be - but that isn't as much fun as going off half cocked with no actual information, is it Ohio?

Don't know numbers yet, but long term ticket holders will get an opportunity to match the going rate. If they do no want to do that, they get extra points for going into the "pool"

In the lower bowl and floor seats will be expensive donations to the Mustang Club - but that is the same as everywhere in the country.

and before we all jump off the ledge on this team, we have lost three games, two of them to final 32 teams for sure (probably sweet 16 teams). laid an egg IU for sure. Not saying they are playing well, but it is a bit early to throw in a towel.

Is this going to matter for the majority of us peasants in the 200s?

 I probably know more people in and out of SMU then you do. No offense. I knew this was coming quite a while back. I threw up a number because they haven't even agreed on the actual prices yet, nor will those numbers make its way to me most likely. But I have a pretty damn good idea of where it's going.

At least donations to the MC are tax deductible if you itemize.

They do need to be careful with this. I will pay more to keep my seats (assuming that's even an option for me - I've had them for 3 years, so I'm not sure I count as a "long-time season ticket holder"), but if they go too far with this then it will be at the expense of my football seats. It will be much easier for me to get single game tickets to the best games at Ford than it will be to get into Moody. I've missed only 1 home football game in the 5 years I've had season tickets, but if SMU screws me over with this move, I'll just limit my football attendance to a couple of games a year and save a few bucks to offset the exorbitant price increases that come with being an SMU bball fan.

Yeah, you'll pay more and be reshuffled to match what you pay.

So lets say I have the cheapest seats in the whole place. I assume my cost goes up still but I will get a shot to get the cheapest seats again for next season correct? I assume the cost for cheapest seats will be more though

Yeah yeah. Correct. New people won't be able to move in, but you'll have to ante up or they will give them to next on the waiting list. Nobody in the building now will get pushed out. They'll have first right of refusal at the new ticket price.
