Alternative viewpoint. JJ's system actually works...

Post by ponyboy »

...as odd as it is. He got sideways with the SMU administration, tried to take off for ASU, it fell apart, and he ended up in a Mexican standoff for the last couple three years of his time here.

I see no reason why he wouldn't excel at the next stop, UNLV or otherwise.

Don't LB"s recent comments add some credence to this? Don't Morris' supposed demands?

Giving you and him the benefit of the doubt that his system works (which I strongly disagree with) what makes you think he will not get "sideways" with the administration at his next stop? Hasn't that happened at both of his last two stops?

What are morris's demands? June would make a good assistant somewhere i think. In fact, i wish he would have just demoted himself to smu qb coach before quitting here.

That's cute. Keep in bolivin.

If you do not recruit you do not win. The length of any success will be determined by the players already wherever he ends up.

Unless he ends up in a Mexican standoff at his next stop.

He might once the honeymoon is over and he's done his third remarkably dramatic turnaround in three stops.

JJ would probably be a good NFL QB coach, and possibly a good NFL offensive coordinator. We know he has had success on that level in the past (though it was a long time ago).

JJ's failure at the college level lies in the level of importance he places on recruiting.

Fourth if you count the 2nd turnaround at SMU where he turned around from decent to terrible again.

Biggest turnaround in FBS history (0-12 to 9-4) in his first year, 12-1 and Sugar Bowl appearance in his last year, four bowls in between. Winningest coach in Hawaii Football history.
