Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?Despite a better record against better competition, our Mustangs were screwed by the National Media out of our title. They wanted to see Big State Schools compete for the title and Perv State fit the bill.
This morning, I heard the guys on ESPN Radio pulling for Ohio State over the church schools. Other same OSU who lost to Virginia a Tech and who lost their top 2 QBs!! TCU and Baylor would run up the score on OSU. Do unto others before they do unto you!!

Baylor might. An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?TCU was just bumped up to #3, so barring a catastrophe to Iowa State, they're safe. Baylor is screwed though.
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?
Not necessarily. They don't play in a title game and the committee may very well reward both FSU and OSU for playing a tough 13th game...as they should. I could really see TCU and Baylor sitting there as 5 and 6 when all is said and done. Pony up!
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?
I feel that if TCU would have been screwed, the committee would have already lowered them or kept them at 4. The fact that they hopped undefeated FSU, I think, says everything we need to know about how the committee views TCU.
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment? They can't penalize them for games that haven't been played. It will be a crime to not penalize the Big 12 for avoiding a title game. We'll know soon enough...
Pony up!
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?
I honestly think the Big 12 schedule is harder than the other conferences even without a championship game. Having to play 9 conference games instead of 8 is a big deal. Also, back when they had one, did Texas beating a crappy Colorado team by 70 in the championship game really impress anyone? Will Alabama beating a crappy Missouri team really impress anyone this year? It's a dumb argument IMO
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?
I agree. If TCU wins big then it seems unlikely (but possible) we would be jumped. The committee definitely put FSU there as a buffer of sorts.
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?Disclaimer: I think the Big 10 should suck it. Vastly overrated conference and loved by the eastern media. Ohio State gets to play too many patsies each year. Even then, they still figure out how to blow a game somewhere. If they somehow manage to get by Wisconsin, they'll jump into the top 4 - and then get hammered by whomever they play in the first playoff game. Having said that, I think they lose this week and TCU survives and makes it into the playoff - and rightfully so. Gotta give it to the frogs, they have it going on over there...........
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?ohio state will leap frog tcu.
baylor and tcu will be left out in the cold.
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?
I really think Ohio St loses. Wiscy is the better team. So you think Ohio St jumps TCU and FSU? If TCU wins big then I don't believe FSU passes TCU.
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?I'm afraid they are both doomed - hopefully the Ohio State goes down Saturday.
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment?Yep, ESPN and the like are already telegraphing the big screw over.
Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Will Baylor & TCU get the SMU Treatment? They should be.
Florida St. went out and scheduled Ok. St., Notre Dame, and Florida in non-conference. All were top 25 or receiving votes preseason. It's not FSU's fault they all ended up being average. They set an aggressive non-conference schedule but for some reason they are being penalized more than anyone else.
