Look at it from the other perspective. Let's say Cassell and Burcham transfer out. We need 3 qBs in the spring. That will be Davis, Colbert, and Severt. We get two in the fall to compete. if you want to move 1 guy to WR (I need 4 QBs), it will be Colbert so that he has time to learn a new position. And Davis is such a leader that you want him to lead the team from the QB position until someone takes his job.

You add on top of that that Davis has refused to move in the past, and I think the thought of him moving to WR is a pipe dream. And personally, I think he will do just fine running the Morris offense. He can make the throws in that offense and he can run the ball. No reason to move him. It's not like he can't throw a lick or doesn't have an arm. He can't go through reads. Don't have to in this offense.

What you just described is the scenario of not having any better options.

#SMU staff doing an in-home visit with West Mesquite 2015 QB Chason Virgil (@ChasonVirgil5) right now. Got to be Morris' top QB target IMO.

Would be a HUGE get.

#SMU landing West Mesquite QB Chason Virgil would be a big time recruiting win for them. But they have several schools to compete with.

Hope we can land him...perfect fit in HCCM's system, IMO.

What do y'all make of this;
“I talked to Proche and he’s trying to get me to go there and we talk everyday now,” Virgil said. “Some of my teammates are talking how he’s from Clemson so I should go to SMU. It’s all up in the air and everybody’s talking to me about it.”
It’s a long way from being settled, but after visiting Louisville last week and having Oklahoma and Fresno State visits planned the next two weeks, Virgil is working towards a decision.
Virgil said there’s not a school that is in the lead for his signature at the time.

It sounds like Virgil is leaning our way but is doing his due diligence and taking his planned visits. For those wondering if we should be worried that he's not visiting us it's because he already took a visit here under the JJ regime. It's sounding very positive for us and I'm loving the sense of solidarity that these recruits are starting to build with each other.

Would love for us to have him. I think he's really impressed with HCCM & staff...on first read it just sounded like he was a little hesitant.

I do believe that we have a huge advantage in that he could start here pretty quickly. Might not see much playing time in the near future at OU.

And how about Proche?!?! Loving that kid...hope he gets some of those DeSoto boys to the hilltop!
