Does she like going to school there?
Yes. She is in the engineering school and doing very well. She just doesn't get into Arkyland football. She went to more SMU football games this year than Arkyland football. By the by, I think the Bielema hire is the one of the top 10 hires of all time. A real steal from Wisconsin.

I'm glad to hear that she likes it. I don't know if you are from Texas, but there are a lot of them on the hill now. We like Bielema, though Nebraska put a scare into us today.

Hogdad, if you want to come to an extra SMU game MRydel may be able to give you a ride. You just have to promise him you won't tell the story of PonyTe's "The Pitch" story where he threw the crucial block to free Craig James for. a TD against Texas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As another outsider who has kids that go to SMU, you can't believe how good a guy SMU got for their head coach. I was a scholarship athlete at Texas State and have multiple rings from football titles. I played for an unbelievable head coach in Jim Wacker. His enthusiasm and attitude translated to our team. The hiring of Larry Brown and now Chad Morris will do wonders for the school. During my time at Texas State, the football team won 3 conference titles and 2 national titles. The golf and tennis teams won national titles. The basketball team was in the small school final four. All teams fed off each other much like I read in another thread about the teams during the Ron Meyer days. I also referee high school football in the Austin area and saw Chad Morris at work. He is no different today than he was when I saw him at Lake Travis. He expects to win. His teams will be well coached and well conditioned. I have been to every home game for the last 4 years as well as travelled to Baylor,TCU and A&M. I was one of the few that stayed for the full games every time. My daughter and son are in the band. My daughter is graduating and asked if I was still going to get season tickets. I said yes even before the HCCM hire. Now it's hell yes. With all the money I've poured into SMU, I''ll be a pony fan for life. My kids grew up loving sports and already my daughter is talking about joining the Mustang Club. SMU is in for a great ride with Chad Morris. Pony Up Stangs.

Good deal. Hey is Texas St with their 7th win going to get a bowl game. I think there is an opening in Ft Worth right against Houston.
I noticed that great Georgia Southern team 8-0 Conference Champs didn't get a waiver from the NCAA. I know there are some advantages for a transitioning team but the disadvantages are greater and they were Champs. They deserved a Bowl

I just move to NOLA from Little Rock. Lived in LR for 15 years. Originally from Northwest Louisiana. I played at SMU in the SWC days and have absolutely no appreciate for the Beloved Razorbacks (or their fans that love to throw stuff at players, spit on players and in general accuse players of being the result of animal husbandry experiments). Bad memories.

Even with seven wins it doesn't look good for a bowl. Ga Southern got a raw deal. Winning the conference without the same number of scholarship players is tough. Good ole NCAA fairness. We should have beaten them but as usual Fran was Fran.

That's awesome. I understand your feelings of "pouring money" into SMU. I think it's worth it though.

I hope you had a better experience in Arkansas while living here than you did as a player.

He did. He met me. Just don't get him talking about the "pitch". We had 5 or 6 from my class at NLR go to SMU. It is a pretty popular school for Arkies. I am old by the way. I was on the team during the Hayden Fry era. I have kids that went to A&M, SW Texas State, Texas Tech, NYU, and I do not remember where else. Welcome to the SMU family.

While you are contributing to SMU, don't forget the Diamond M Club. They fed and feed your kids on game day and provide a chunk of change for scholarships.
