Great interview. I like Morris. I like his humility. The way he spoke of "fit" in his profession was insightful. He definitely is a good fit for SMU. Loved the way he defended Texas HS coaches. Some HS coaches in this state never even aspire to anything else. Its religion here.

Many friends of mine who are alums of former SWC/SEC schools are in awe that Morris would take this position.

Great interview - especially the end where Fitzsimmons asks what his pitch is to HS players. Definitely worth a listen.

Sounds like we have another radio host on board - Ian Fitzsimmons came from the SC market and evidently is a big Dabo Sweeney fan - so is already familiar with HCCM. He could not have been more complimentary of the hire and Coach Morris.

My understanding is that AAC conference was doing whatever stipend thing the P5 were going to do. If this is correct then HCCM needs to get the low down cause he did not have an answer when the radio guy brought that up other than to say the P% can not get all of them.

"With $10 of gas, you can built a football team." 8)

He is talking about success next year. Expectations have been raised and I believe him. And, this target market is Texas High School Football Coaches. Simple and effectively. Clarity of purpose.

Another great interview with HCCM, love it. Can't wait until his staff is fully formed and the recruits are rolling in.
