Time to pull the plug on Copeland RegimePlease fire Jim Copeland. Keep Bennett until the end of the year but do something that shows us there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Copeland has been a diaster. I could run this athletic program better from my job in Chicago. Have we had one positive athletic moment in this guy's tenure. No tournament, no bowl games, and we are losing athletic programs. If this guy was the CEO of a company, the stockholders would have already thrown him out of the job. Why, as alumni and as a top tier university with an endowment close to 1 billion, are we satisfied with being so awful? He should have been fired 3 years ago, it better get done ASAP.
Well stated Nick. Copeland has run the athletic programs into the ground. Zero success in the revenue sports. What a great university, but all people know it for is the DP and currently as one of the worst football programs in the country.
Furtheremore, Bennet should be fired as well.
Houston Nutt will probably be available, as will Neuheisal. Spend the 1 mil a year, which I am sure you could raise if you sent letters to all alumni detailing in exact terms, like a business plan, how we are going to rebuild the program. I am a young alumni who can not really donate a lot of money, but if it was presented to me in a manner where I thought success could be found, I am sure my friends and I would be willing to donate whatever we could. This should have been done years ago.
