I know everyone is high on Davis and think he fits HCCM' scheme well, but I have just been completely underwhelmed and sometimes appalled at his play this year....I don't think there is any QB you could say we should definitely hang onto - albeit I haven't heard much about Severt and Colbert this season.

I totally agree about Davis' play this year. I'd like to see him on the field somewhere b/c there's no doubt he is a legit athlete. But his QB play, particularly decision-making, has been wildly inconsistent this year. Almost to the point where it looks like something more than just "he's new to the system."

I need some help because I don't get it. Why Virgil over Kearns? They are both pro-style QBs and Kearns is actually quite a bit bigger than Virgil.

News today is that Virgil is heading to OU this weekend for a visit.

Virgil is a duel threat QB, which fits the offense Morris runs. Virgil has several major P5 schools after him, Kearns is a pro style QB with one offer, SMU. It's pretty simple.

Well, is Kearns getting a visit to OU? Or anywhere else? No offers speaks much more loudly than stars. And I am probably larger than both so I do not see that as an issue.

He will start out at QB in Morris' system. Because he clearly had no idea what he was doing in the RnS, his refusal to get the ball out quick might have been the result of curable "brain lock."

Is that a result of his commit to SMU? Meaning do schools back off once they know a guy has committed? Now that he has opened himself up I suppose we shall see if anyone comes courting him.

I doubt that many schools in the past several years would back off recruiting a kid committed to SMU if they wanted that kid.
