Because Baylor is Baylor and SMU is SMU. No comparison.
Baylor is a [Deleted] school run by a scum bag president in an armpit of a town. SMU is big time. Big time location. Big time excellence in all facets. Baylor's football success has peaked. SMU is on the rise and the place to be now. Jump on board and enjoy the ride baby. Pony Up!
Easy there. Baylor is a fine school in a very unfortunate location. But being the S&C coach at a school that can make the first ever 4-team playoff is a great spot to be. If this rumor is true it has more to do with Morris as a salesman than it does institutions.
Yep and what institution HAS Morris again? It's like saying, well, GE was only good because they had Jack Welch. Well THEY hired the dude.
We all need to get behind this momentum and PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE. #LockArms.

I'm all for promotion and locking arms but sh1tting on other schools does nothing for us.

Again, no idea, just some noise that started somewhere. We could only be so lucky to get a guy like this!
2 possible reasons though:
1. $$$$$$$$$$ 2. Did all he could do at Baylor, super successful, time for a new challenge?
Maybe some of the cash Morris is saving by hiring these young coaches could pay a guy like this who could have as much, or more immediate impact on the program, than any number of coaches. You'd have to think hiring Craddock as OC saved a ton of money.

3. Dallas
Not saying anyone would leave a success story, but if so, Dallas would play a big part in the decision, I would imagine - its part of what got HCCM here.

KAZ is a good guy an a EXCELLENT S&C coach, this would be a hug get. But, if we have the cash to throw around, an excitement around the program now .... take a shot a VIC. I think he gets a little credit for FSU's success (Chad he should know that first hand), he is knowledgeable, a cutting edge guy, and demands discipline/accountability with the players. Tell him him to come home, Pony nation wants him back.
The amount of time players spend with the S&C coach is huge, even more so out of season. They have a huge influence with the players. We need a guy that gets players excited, keeps them accountable, and delivers results that show players he can help push them to the next level. S&C is worth throwing some serious money at and support. Need to stop halving half our team from disappearing in the opener due to poor S&C.

Several years ago, Sports Illustrated did a long article about the rise of the S&C coach with all the rules the NCAA puts on other coaches, but I cannot seem to easily find it.
