If that's the case there are several people out there that would argue that it's Oregon and 3 teams from the SEC West that should be in.

I'm not necessarily saying I agree with this, but the committee has explicitly stated that their goal is to find the 4 "best" teams and not the 4 "most deserving" teams.

I love to watch both teams and they put on the show of the year. I think if TCU and Baylor played 10 times they both win about 5 times. I watched the entire game and thought TCU outplayed Baylor on that day despite the great comeback. I absolutely believe that inconsistent officiating on pass interference calls-not once but all day long was the difference. Baylor DBs were manhandling TCU receivers. Ironically the officials called 245 yards of penalties on Baylor the next week against West Virginia when the official apparently had a completely different interpretation of the pass interference rule. Embarrassment for the Big 12-I'd love to hear what was said in private among Big 12 officials concerning the inconsistency upon review

As I understand it, the committee is charged with picking the"best" team.
- FSU needs to be in the playoffs because nobody has proven that they can beat them. While they may not be the best, teams with 1 or more losses cannot really complain.
- All the 1 loss teams are "tied" in terms for win/losses. When you have a tie, the committee is charged with deciding. IMHO - the best remaining teams are Oregon, Bama, and TCU. Baylor isn't far behind. Without its top 2 QB's, OSU isn't close.
- The SEC west needs to quit whining. Win your games and you don't have anything to complain about. What if Missouri beats Bama? Does Bama still "deserve" to get in.

TCU and Baylor have very similar resumes- same conference, same record. How BU doesn't get the nod because of head to head is beyond me

I can't find a loss similar to Baylor's against West Virginia on TCU's resume. To me that is significant. Others disagree. Fair enough. (Edit: Some people also put a lot of weight on the OOC schedule difference, but beating Minnesota doesn't do much for me...)

That said, I'm definitely finding the Big 12's "One True Champion" slogan pretty funny these days.

OOC scheduling apparently. This thing is going to come down to Minnesota vs. Buffalo

The far majority of the pundits have said all year that Alabama is the best team in the country. Can anyone tell me why we are even playing the games? Apparently Alabama #1.

If that's what actually happens. Dumb. Go to 8 allow the conference winners of each P5 (regardless of rank or record) get a spot in the playoff and get 3 at larges. Let's go. Beating a team in the regular season HAS to count for something.

The argument is probably that playing the games lets you refine your opinion regarding which team is the best throughout the regular season. (Although if we just went with the preseason polls compared to this week's, all we're doing is swapping out Oklahoma for TCU/Baylor.)

Thank you. It's making me nauseous hearing it too. So much so, I've help Pepto with their sales this year. Tired of hearing how they just CAN'T be held out of the playoff, regardless if they win this week or not.

Not Exactly. They should play Auburn, MSU and Ole Miss in a 4 team playoff for the national title.

I'm probably being naive, but I feel like if Missouri beats them solidly and the remaining top 6 teams win Alabama will be out of the playoff.

I agree, but I have heard the arguments that Bama should be in the playoff because they are the best team in the country. It's the whole the any SEC West team is WAY better than any other team(s) out there argument.
