It takes character to do the right thing and your commitment to the SMU players this year was remarkable.
We can only imagine the challenges you inherited two weeks into the season. You deserve our thanks and deep admiration for sticking with these young men. Your attitude is a lesson in leadership that is a model for them now and in the future.
We will forever be grateful, Coach. And, we sincerely hope you are able to land something special for you and your family. Class with a captial "C"!

Class individual all the way around. As much of a true Mustang in spirit as a hired coach can be. He did it the right way and can hold his head high.

Mason is a good man, an ethical man and never quits. Kept preaching good works to the team and they never shut down. He always wanted better each week, It paid off today with a win for Tom Mason and all the seniors.
Lets keep the ball rolling.

how must that have felt to have June just bolt and leave it in your lap. Your choice is to go also and run from it - or do the right thing by your players and your fellow coaches. If the players saw that and understood it - they learned more from this season then the guys who go on to bowl games and playoffs.

Mason taught them the real meaning of loyalty and dedication. tiki's words were nothing more than lies. Hope they see the truth and learned a lesson from this season. Thanks to Coach Mason and the team/seniors who stuck through the adversity.

Yes, indeed, thank you Coach Mason. This job was dumped in your lap and you took the responsibility the lazy quitter who dumped there refused. As a Mustang fan, I appreciate your efforts and wish you good fortune. I hope you can one day look back on your days at SMU with fondness.
