I am sure that there are a number of the Board of Trustees that care, but how many? Wonder how many (if any) are dead-set against competitive athletics. Wonder if it is ever seriously discussed. Surely, President Turner is a strong advocate. I'm sure it is a touchy subject, though it shouldn't be. Has anyone asked Laura B. where she stands on this issue? Maybe she could use the liberry as leverage to get us an admissions and transfer policy that mirrors UTEP and UH.
well - someone is delusional for sure if that is the case
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
On that point I agree. If they replace Copeland without making fundamental changes then SMU athletics is royally screwed. I have to believe that taking out Copeland would signify important changes are necessary, otherwise why do it I am willing to take that roll of the dice versus what we have now...who wouldn't???
If you are responding to me, they aren't delusional, just uninformed. Wanna bet? Go ask a SMU alumni you know that hasn't been to a football game in a couple of years why SMU isn't any good. "Academic restrictions" will not come up. People don't know. Believe me. The people don't know.
your statement:
how can they be uninformed when I & so many others see it 1500 miles away??? but i can see your point, too - i, for one, seriously believe that they just don't care - plain & simple BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

you are right-most don't know why we suck. I've been in shock for years about this. It wouldn't be this way at any other school in Texas. That's exactly why I have tried to "educate" this board. What really sucks is that the Coaches all know what is going on but remain quiet to keep their jobs while meanwhile all the cheerleaders go out and defend position and policies the coaching staff actually wants to change.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes! Oh, and don't get too excited Stallion. That isn't the chicks at Red River calling you. ![]()

at least he is man enough to admit when he had an ofer weekend!
not really sure if that is something to admit to?
hey I made a comeback though last weekend. Had a date with a graduate of a BCS school to the game-then went out later that Nite to - yes- Red River and would have had a "sure-thing" with a NCAJC "National Collegiate Association of Junior Colleges") girl except she got so drunk by 12:30 that she passed out. Solid improvement over the previous week though.
I remember those days. A very fine line between getting them drunk enough and keeping them awake.
stallion -
whether its world traveling, sex & fishing, international loving, last of the big spending, high rolling & most of all - the smu disaster - u will always be the hero of so many of us on this board!!! ![]() & mrydel - you're running a close second!
