I thought that outcome was pretty predictable and I personally thought it was a joke that this committee had TCU jump FSU last week just because they trounced Texas. Several teams whipped Texas this year because they were not very good...but...they remain a "brand" name and that caught the eye of the numbskull committee members. Ohio State ultimately gets credit for beating a one-dimensional Wisconsin team that has only one good win this year (assuming you call a big win over Nebraska a good win). To Ohio's credit, they did beat Michigan State on the road and that was no easy task.
It will be interesting to see whether Ohio can compete with Bama. I expect Oregon to have too much for FSU, but I've been waiting all year for someone to beat FSU and they just keep winning.

Guys I mentioned this on another thread. There good arguments on both sides for and against Baylor, TCU getting left out but I strongly believe it's no coincidence the final four teams are Big State schools with large fan bases, national appeal which means TV ratings.
GO MUSTANGS!

These final seedings make for some great matchups, too. Bama vs OSU in a slobber knocker and Oregon vs FSU in a track meet. I think that when all was said and done, they may have picked the right 4 teams but it sure would be nice to know how Baylor and/or TCU would have competed against these teams.

ever since television took over college athletics, that's pretty much been the case

TCU and Baylor do not stand a chance although its very likely head to head either of them would crush those SLOW LUGS from the bowels of this country.
I am no fan of anything to do with Ohio State, but I think the number of (pretty fast) OSU players in the NFL should give one pause in labeling the team generally 'slow.' Also, Columbus is certainly not the Garden Spot of the country but it's better than many places. I prefer it to Waco, for example.

Waco is at least an hour and a half from civilization, and it isn't colder than Canada.

Oh come on now; Columbus is a city of 800,000 in a metro area of 1.3 million; one doesn't need to drive anywhere to find 'civilization.' It is also less than two hours drive from two other large metro areas. I hate defending Columbus, it's certainly not anywhere near my 'shortlist' of cities to move to, but it is worlds better than Waco.

This debate is a lot like debating whether syphilis is preferable to chlamydia.
