We have better chance than them in the remaining P5.
Most likely path for us is both Mustangs & Coogs to ACC.
Most likely path period is Coogs to B12.
(this is assuming no major shake-ups within the conferences)
Agree. I know so many on here want b12, but SMU is a great fit for the ACC.
Yeah, can't wait for all our away games to be on the east coast and the east side of Ford to be empty at home games. This crap of having conferences spread all over the U.S. really makes no sense...and that includes AAC to some extent. At least in the AAC we have some schools relatively close...
You mean Tulsa & Tulane Actually UTEP was a relatively solid conference mate.

Could not agree more. SMU, location wise is in a bad situation since we are not in a P5 and currently no hope of getting into one. The B12 would be the only natural fit and that is not happening as things stand now
GO MUSTANGS!

Actually SEC West is a better fit than B12, but don't hold your breath on either.

The cost for life insurance on our players would be too expensive if we were in the SEC West.

Since they will abandon ship and go to the PAC 12 ....who knows?
I have never believed that would happen. UT is in the enviable position of having so much fb revenue that they can hang out in a non-championship game conference, hope that they beat OU, and expect the rest of the field to be mediocre and beatable in the long run. I live near the UT campus and am surrounded by long time Horns fans. The general feeling is that K State will not be a powerhouse year in and year out once Snyder leaves. They also feel that ISU, Kansas, and Tech are second tier programs, and that Baylor and TCU are flashes in the pan. Believe me, they orchestrated the TCU/WV deals, and this never would have happened if they believed that either program would be long term threats to their status. They like this universe and I'm not sure that they should feel differently if they can ever find a FB coach who is a judge of talent and knows what to do with it.

why would any ACC team be interested in leaving their conference to join the big 12? Leave a relatively stable conference with mostly like minded really good universities to travel across the country to play tech, kansas state, iowa state and OSU? yuck. THey make plenty of money where they are without ruining everything else.

Except we wouldn't be 0-11 (we would have cupcakes because of a tougher con sched) in the big 12 and we would be playing OU and not Memphis
