Mike Leach to UH?

Leach would be a fun hire, not sure about the right hire, but a fun one for them and our conference.

2 things. UofH has lost a lot of its biggest supporters from the past 10 years (John O'Quinn, for ex.).

But most important:

Hiring Mike Leach would be the most UofH-iest thing UofH has ever done. It is like a parody of itself. Even hiring Mac Brown would not be as quintessential UofH as UofH hiring Mike Leach. Awesome.

Always thought Leach was and is a little overrated ... but he never would he be a 1up over Coach Morris even w/o HC experience. The possibility is out there, but it's not with Leach IMO. Your right, Leach has laid the foundation for JJ to step right in ... would that not be hilarious. Lets go from P5 Pac-12 to G5-AAC, says a lot about WSU and/or Leach.

I think he did pretty well at Tech considering they are 2nd tier big 12. still managed to have 10 straight winning seasons etc.

also not sure what Leach's buyout is, but UH is poor as dirt so that would definitely be an issue

and Leach makes 2.75 million and coaches in the P5. So he's going to take a pay cut and move out of the P5? Pure fantasy

I understand your point but things are going south in a hurry up in Washington, and if he wants a fresh start closer to his home base he needs to think about making the jump. He gives up a P5 job for a far, far better chance to win.

lower tier P-5 jobs are not what they are cracked up to be. Why would any great athlete go to Wash State over the top 3/4 of their conference? It is the Texas Tech syndrome. Very tough to make those programs come around - so 2.5 M in a new 5 year contract in a job he can excel in is a better bet then 2.75 in a job where he probably already knows we will be fired in a year.
