Cox & Friends don't really have issues with me, they have issues with themselves and the players for some reason. I am their convenient scapegoat because they get furious when I have the audacity to criticize their university. Other posters do it all the time, but since I also stick up for the players, their favorite punching bag, it makes them feel better to act like children and call me names. You can almost see Cox face turning red as he replies to my posts.
2 posts above really say it all about guys like Cox & Friends:
"The fact that SMU supporters feel that their team needs to be worthy of them rather than the other way around is just another reason we're struggling to hold the program together."
"Yes, the ole' entitlement syndrome rears its ugly head once again."
The fact that 3 or 4 SMU 'supporters' could go out of their way to trash a 'Welcome the Team Back' thread, shows the twisted arrogance of these guys. It was reassuring to see a greater number of SMU fans immediately came out against this, but I really wonder how many SMU students and alumni feel this way? Is it 10,20,30+% of that population or more? How much of the Blvd who refuse to walk a couple blocks to support their team feel this way?
I believe the hiring of Chad Morris is fantastic and I think he is going to turn this thing around quickly. These kids will respond accordingly and make their teammates and supporters proud.
Thanks to all of those who thought it was a good idea to welcome the team back in a very classy fashion. I can assure you the players and parents took notice and appreciated it very much. Happy Holidays PonyLove!
