SMU could hit 10+ wins next season and every year for 10 straight years and they aren't getting an invite to a b12 that has UT (and likely TCU and Baylor). Between UT, OU, Tech, Baylor, and TCU, Dallas is covered. I actually don't think the b12 expands. I think they apply pressure to move the playoff to 8 teams and problem solved. Then they wait until the GoR expires and then teams start going their separate ways.
This whole conversation is putting the cart before the horse...we are a million miles away from a 10 win season. If we get there, we can worry about what is being discussed now. Oh, and screw both TCU and Baylor.

Rutgers wasn't good when picked up by B1G. Lots of factors come into play in expansion on just wins and losses, IMO.

I like the idea of scheduling some home and homes with Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois (lots of them in Dallas) and blow off the Big 12 teams. Add in Duke, Wake Forest, the U, UNC, UVA, and WSU, WU, UU, CO, ASU, Cal and even BYU.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

great idea. However would a Duke or NC St. bring any more people than say UCONN or Cincy? We really need schools that will put butts in the seats until we can get our fan base built to a much higher level than currently exists.

if we're into who will bring a bunch of fans, we need to regularly schedule UTEP & BYU.

We've got to figure out how to put our fans in the seats. Not the opponents. Playing those B10/ACC schools as mentioned would be great expose to new market(s). If we are 1-11 no one is going to the games but the opponents so if we are losing it doesn't matter. We need to get some wins going and then beating a NC State/Northwestern at home would be big. If we can't get our fans to show up when playing middle of the road B10/ACC/PAC12 teams while we are winning, there is no hope.

I agree with what you write. It's about getting our fans to show up and bringing good competition from other conferences helps us grow our fanbase because we bring good matchups and helps our exposure in their markets and exposes them in DFW/Texas. I would prefer we ditch all big 12 and bring in from other conferences. If we need a good Texas Matchup call A&M.

Yeah that Wazzu win a few years back was real big wasn't it?

It was a 2-10 washington state team and we blew it by losing to the old swc teams later that year.
