I heard that June withdrew out of the race because his psych professor buddy Jon Niednagel couldn't get a job at UNLV and ultimately decided that it wasn't a good fit....

The thing I'm wondering about is whether or not it would be more damaging to his image that he can't get another job, or if he goes somewhere else and burns their program to the ground

Surely, he just turned it down. Pele must have told him in a dream to reject the offer and that his "other work" was not yet complete. It is Sin City, after all.
