UCF didn't sell out their CUSA Championship game against us, not that we did any better selling about 129 tickets.

Bitcoin is awesome. Best bowl game sponsor ever.

Actually, the game was in January. But you're right, there seemed to be a good number of us there.

Sincere question, were any of you there? While a decent showing there were tons of Bama fans. Compass Bank gave away a lot of tickets to employees so the locals showed up in droves.

I was there +3.
Good trip, good town, great weekend. Lots of Mustangs in attendance, but there were also a lot of locals (Birmingham likes their football evidently) sporting Crimson, which worked out well for us TV-wise.

UAB may dispute your Birmingham likes their football statement.

Sorry, I meant January ... and yes I was there. The open party down on the square ... what they call it ... 5 points, 5 blvd?? can't recall. But, Cole B's dad up on the stage signing and then leading a congo line was a riot. Bonus, the weather that whole time was exceptional.

Ther 10 days after surgery. There was lots f debate on our crowd. Lots bought tickets from sources other than the SMU allotment. I would say 10K was about right. ED and a bunch iofpony express guys were ther - ask a smusic about his picture with ED at the bar. Steve LundQuist was there as well. Lots of East Coast alumni came to the game.

SMU can't even get 500 to go to Amon Carter.

I think that would be "conga" line - unless this is a jungle fever reference.

My son and I were at the game. We had never been to Birmingham before, and it was a great place to visit, in addition to winning the game 28-6. Visited the Vulcan statue and museum. Yes, there were many Bama fans at the game and they were very friendly. One came up to me after the game and said he just had to tell the first SMU fan he saw how impressed he was with our team, and especially our defense.

I was there with a few locals. All were pretty impressed with the SMU crowd.

Was it the same crowd that Ole Miss brought the next year (over 50,000 by most estimates)? No... of course not. For a small school traveling to a bowl game in a horrid stadium in a city that isn't on anyone's top 20 list of places to visit, we did very well.

That was a great game to go to, I brought me +2 and had shots at the Tequilaria Restaurant ($2 a piece with breakfast) transiting through North Carolina. A win + BBQ afterwards....man I want to go to a bowl game again next year and beat down someone else from a P5 conference.

P5 conferences are soon going to realize the incredible potential UCF offers. Have to remember this is a relatively young school that until recently has been known more as a commuter school serving the Orlando community and Florida kids who could not get into UF or FSU because of the numbers game. Over the last 10 years, they suddenly are becoming known in college athletics and attracting students who are actually interested in sports. With 10k grads/year, it won't be long before they have the kind of following that will make them really attractive to the big boys
