I agree with Margus Hunt. Once again Zach Line wad not a JJ recruit. He was a no offer recruit whose tape had to be sent to him. GG is also not in the NFL anymore. I like GG but I cannot credit JJ with this considering a P5 has been was looking for the most pass heavy local school.
Back to my original point... he discovered 1 player in 7 years. Margus... who happened to already be at SMU. Does that count?
If Zach was not a JJ recruit how did he make it to SMU? Look, his recruiting was a disaster, but he relies on the Zach Lines, Shawnbrey McNeals, and Garrett Gilberts to get it done. Are you complaining about Larry Brown bringing in Nic Moore and Markus Kennedy? Nic Moore was not a Larry Brown recruit. He was a transfer that came with Tim Jankovich. Kennedy was a transfer so he doesn't count either. Ryan Manuel and Cannen Cunningham were already here thanks to Doherty. So who has Larry Brown brought? Sterling Brown, Keith Frazier, and Ben Moore? Martin, Moreira, and Emelogu were transfers so I suppose they don't count either.
Are you playing stupid or actually unfortunately so? N Moore was not. However MK was 100% LB bc of his activities at Villanova before SMU. Martin and Emelogu were transfers. LB recruited Emelogu the year before VT so count him. Martin does not. Yanick was JUCO so it absolutely counts. Add that to the rest of your list... Not to mention in 2 years plus multiple top 25 showings... Plus he actually tried for someone like EM even if it did not work out. Did I seriously have to list this in response to your ridiculous post???

Please don't compare June's "recruiting" to LB. Ever. Never ever.

How does that even matter? JJ had a relationship with GG's father prior to his arrival at SMU. You keep insulting me but digging a bigger hole for yourself. By and large, JJ's recruiting at SMU was atrocious, but you cannot discount the talented players he did manage to produce. The point is nobody cares how we acquire the players as long as they produce once they get here. No one has questioned Larry Brown's recruiting because he has greatly improved the program. We have a deep roster full of talented players despite having an atrocious class thanks to EM opting for China. We missed out on all of our Texas targets for 2015, but nobody cares because we have talent on the roster. If June Jones had managed to stockpile talent nobody would be dog piling on his recruiting. Additionally, his recruiting was bad enough without knuckleheads like you having to make things up to make him look worse as he did that all by himself.

Hal Mumme got Gilbert into the NFL. Remember GG pre Mumme? That guy wouldn't have been a UDFA signee. Mumme fixed June's offense for a year a then after he left, JJ went back to doing what he does....

Anybody heard what Gilbert has been doing since he waived from the Rams practice squad at the end of October? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I remember when ponyfans members were posting how awesome GG looked in preseason. The Rams O is currently not good (haven't scored TD in 3 games?). I have hard time believing GG isn't even Rams practice squad quality.

As you guys know, I'm no fan of EJ. Once he got cross with June, he got on a personal vendetta and all semblance of journalistic objectivity went out the window IMHO. EJ is Dale Hanson's mini me. That being said, he's spot on in this post mortem. The only nitpicks are that the MASH unit was sitting at 20+ by season's end, and I don't believe our defense wasn't nearly as bad as the stats indicate. But when your offense goes 3-and-out every series, well, it makes for a long, rough season for your defense. FWIW: Line P and Gehrig Dieter were Parade All-Americans, does that count? Just FYI, Dieter went 28 rec, 352 yds, 1 TD this season. LineP went 78 att, 256 yds, 4 TD this season.
