No reason to be a turd about it. Being a student, I just thought having night games would have a better turnout. Even our high school team in Wyoming had all night games when it was 32 or below and we still had a better turnout and we were far worse than SMU.

Just curious: where in Wyoming? And what attracted you to SMU?

Maybe the fact that it is not 32 below at night in Dallas. That would attract me to SMU.

You might not be a football fan if:

1. Last Saturdays game with ECU was painful to watch.

2. Last Saturdays game with ECU wasn't entertaining.

3. Last Saturdays game with ECU didn't end up being painful after losing
because of all the turnovers in the final minutes if you're even a luke
warm Ponyfan.

Jackson Hole High School class of '03

Here's our high school record from '99-'02
2-6
1-7
0-8
2-6

And we still had fans willing to go to night games in sub frezzing temperatures. We suffered from all the same problems that SMU does now, however at least our administration made sure there was plenty of time to attend the pregame festivities and maximize fan turnout. We even built stadium lights so games wouldn't have to be at 4:00pm. I wish SMU would use their more often.

back on topic...

I was raised a Texan and SMU was actually my parents' suggestion and I went and ran with it. I am a very loyal fan who attends every home game and actually stays till the end no matter how bad it is. And I also like to watch other football games on TV then head to the game, it's nice.

Thanks for the reply, covok48. Welcome to SMU. Sorry you're having to relive the pain of high school football on The Hilltop, too!

They probably had only 9 high school football teams in the entire state.
Other football programs don't seem to have a problem of getting crowds to their 2:00 games or even their 11:00 games...what's so special about SMU fans that they can't seem to get to a 2:00 game or find it a hardship? Geez!
Being a student I can tell you...half the students that might actually go to the game are still hungover and don't want to stand in the sun at 2 in the afternoon. I actually have to set my alarm so I'll wake up in time, no college student wants to do that on a Saturday

then you need to:

a. drink less
b. take some hangover prevention medicine
c. stop being so lazy that you can't be out of bed by 2 in the freaking afternoon.

It is October 19th and the expected high is 94 degrees today....
Are you serious? That's an excuse? Do you not live here during the summer? When the high is 94, it's almost time to break out the sweatshirts....

Right on girl! It's the weekend and you worked hard during the week! Tell me, though, you cannot seriously find the incessant losing an entertaining and enjoyable way to spend your free time on the weekend, can you?
