Easy now. This is my school you're talking about. My Lions ended a 44 game losing streak this season. Not sure if was a record but I think it was close. G-town had really good teams in the 80s and 00s but when I was in school in the 90s we sucked. We were the smallest 5A school in the state and stuck in a district with the Mesquite and Garland schools. It was ugly.
I asked some people who watched Wilson a lot this year and they said he's got a chance to be really good. He has all the tools.

No offense intended LA. I have cousins that went to Greenville here recently and the state of their football program was shockingly bad. They had some really good runs in the early 00's. Bringing back Sedberry as HC was a good move. Hopefully Greenville can right the ship. They actually have a pretty nice stadium there. BTW, have you seen Royse City's stadium?! its unreal!
I used to live in Greenville and I apologize but it was the worst place out of the many in which I have resided. I lived there not long after they took down their billboard that read "Home of the blackest dirt and whitest people". I have noticed it has grown a lot since my residency so maybe the atmosphere has improved also.

Justin Northwest senior receiver Emmanuel Moore was named Offensive MVP with just shy of 100 catches in rejuvenating Northwest into a state playoff contender under first-year coach Bill Poe. Moore ended with 93 catches for 1,291 yards with 19 touchdowns in 10 games.
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
SMT, none taken. I was just being funny. Our football teams have been historically bad many seasons.
mrydel, no apology needed. The town is terrible. We all know and accept that. It has two saving graces - it a quick 45 minute drive to Dallas and it's home to L3, formally Raytheon & E-Sytems. That's the only reason my mother, and most of the people in town live there. Now, many people choose to live in Rockwall or Rowlett and commute to L3 so they don't have to live there. DART runs daily vans from parts of Dallas to Greenville for L3 commuters.
Anyway, I hope Wilson joins Justin Rogers as another great SMU footballer from Gtown. Commerce tries to claim Rogers but he's from Greenville.

I have actually looked in the Greenville area for where I want to move in retirement. Much of my distain had to do with my work at the time. Plus my divorce. I want to live within an hour of Dallas so Greenville falls just within my radius.

Greenville is slowly improving but it has a long way to go. If you want to stay outside of Dallas but close you should look at Royse City. It's between Greenville and Rockwall, ten minutes from each. You still have the option for a place in the country or if you're looking for community developments they are popping up everywhere now. Nearby Rockwall/Rowlett has everything and you can be in downtown Dallas in 45 minutes if you don't hit traffic, that's a big if though.

Done a lot of looking. Looking for some secluded acreage, and would be perfect with just a small cabin. Mrsmrydel and I recently stated in a resort cabin in Arkansas and she said that is what she wants for retirement. Just a small cabin in the woods. I am all for it.

I hear banjo music when you say that!! J/k, Arky is a nice place. Go to that part of the country every year with the in-laws. I fear one year I won't be making it back...
My brother sells real estate out of lindale which is about an hour and a half from SMU. He can be on the look out for you. You can ride with us to all the games.
