That being said, he's spot on in this post mortem. The only nitpicks are that the MASH unit was sitting at 20+ by season's end, and I don't believe our defense wasn't nearly as bad as the stats indicate. But when your offense goes 3-and-out every series, well, it makes for a long, rough season for your defense.

FWIW: Line P and Gehrig Dieter were Parade All-Americans, does that count?
Just FYI, Dieter went 28 rec, 352 yds, 1 TD this season. LineP went 78 att, 256 yds, 4 TD this season.
Now you are just being ridiculous. No, that does not count. Gehrig Dieter had offers from...Kansas, and no other P5 schools. He was not on any top 100/top 250 etc. list. Prescott Line had no other P5 offers.
Frazier on the other hand was a top 10-20 prospect in the country depending on which service you look at, with offers from texas, florida, baylor, arizona, the rest of the big 12 and a boat load of others. they are not in the same stratosphere.
And I guess everyone has already forgotten that LB got the #1 or 2 player in the country to choose us over Kentucky.
Honestly comparing LB and JJ is just plain absurd.
Seriously?!? We sucked...picked a string of losers in a row that never panned out. Trying to get out of that rut, we started seeing that popular loner hoping to find the answer. Turns out...he was a loner for a reason, tried to cheat on us, and after crashing and burning we finally dumped him. Finally realized what we needed, dolled up a bit, and got a winner. If we keep [deleted] about that loser, we will screw with the future.
There you go...our past few decades from the viewpoint of a 16 year old girl who loves [deleted] vampire movies. Haven't you all learned anything from Twilight movies, EMO music and hipsters?!? Let's move on!

Y'all be bored...arguing over something this ridiculous. Last I check Parade all American meant something big. Dieter and line are baller. Bummer we lost dieter .
The really sad thing for SMU (and shameful for JJ) is had JJ kept some young hungry coaches on staff, had he made an effort to recruit and rejuvenate his offense every few years, he might well have been the coach to lead SMU out of the wilderness. He might well have had his statue on the campus and his name honored at Mustang meetings. I think Morris will be the one to do the job JJ didn't do. But JJ ruined his reputation after turning around what was once dead because he didn't want to coach at SMU. I still think he was embarrassed over the UNT loss. I know I would have been. There might have been other influences (like money thrown in) but he had to be looking for a rock to hide under.
