I'm in 209 second row from the top. Just wanted to make sure I am reading this correctly. My 4 tickets will go from $720 ($180/per ticket) to $2000 ($250+$250donation per seat). Is this correct?

woah wait so even the cheapest seats in the house are requiring 250 and 250 just to get one seat? So $2000 bucks to keep my 4 seats and bring friends? I'm pretty sure my starting salary is just a little bit above average set up next year and that still makes me uncomfortable to drop 2 grand on athletic events. I love SMU to death but that is going to price out some young alumns for sure. Just hard to drop money like that with school loans and stuff.

Well that price escalated quickly. As a young alumni here is my take. The team better make the tournament to justify this increase. It seems to me that SMU is trying to price out the young alumni and further damage the atmosphere even more. They are ruining the only good sports property they have for a few extra dollars. It just makes me sad. I've been a huge Rick Hart fan, but it seems to me he is taking the wrong side on this issue. I somewhat understand the reseat but increasing the ticket prices over 100% is ridiculous and is a straight attempt at pricing out young alumni.

ok good I was worried. Idc where they are just want to be in the building. As long as I can keep my cheap seats in the last row I'll be happy. (I'd really like to move down a row or two but beggars can't be choosers.)

$180 is for baseline nosebleeds. Those are the 20_A sections. Mine are in 209 upper sideline. The picture showed $250+$250 donation. Take another look at the picture, but I'm pretty sure I read that right.

If any of the details shared on this thread are correct - and I have no reason to believe that they aren't - then everyone responsible for this including Rick Hart needs to be canned.

Leave it to SMU to completely F up the one good thing we have going.

Here is what this policy says:

Jumped on the bandwagon the second we hired Larry Brown? Screw you, you lose your seats.
Graduated in the past few years but bought season tickets as soon as you graduated? Screw you, you lose your seats.
Are you just a regular person who has Had season tickets longer than 4 years? You can keep your seats, just take out a second mortgage to do so.
Are you our one fan from the greater Dallas area that despite having no affiliation with SMU has supported us through thick and thin? Thanks for that support, now we are going to gouge the crap out of you.
Did you make each and every trip to Garland last year? Thanks for your loyalty...in return, you get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Do you also support the horrible SMU football program? Fantastic, but your football donation is completely meaningless in helping you get any basketball seats.

Bump. No one has said anything on here that contradicts any of this so I have to believe that this is how it is.

If you currently have season tickets, you will have a right to purchase tickets. You will not be run off the building.
I think that is fair, and if we want better seats than what we have, we need to pony up the cash like the people that want the better seats will most likely do.

Everyone should be given first right of refusal on their own seats. Not just those of us who have been here since Doh.

I'm a tiny step above. I am still on the second to last row in the corner. Haha, I was hoping to move up to row 12. Those will be $900 per ticket after donation. Screw that.

Let's say you have sideline seats and you determine that you don't want to pay more next year. Are you first in line for baseline seats, or are the people with baseline seats first in line for those baseline seats? What happens if there are more people who want the cheaper seats than there are seats, and fewer people who want the sideline seats than there are seats?

I'm just trying to figure out what SMU's end game is here. It seems like they are milking the cash cow as much as possible until it goes back to being worthless. I hope we retain this success, but history repeats itself. Fans will remember getting screwed. The funniest part to me is we haven't even won anything yet. No major tournaments, no conference tournaments, no NIT tournament, and no NCAA tourney appearance. We were ranked preseason which is a big deal but lost the ranking after two weeks. I just don't get it.

Good point. Paying $1280 more for four tix 20ft. OVER (not lower) is not worth it. I'll be moving to the baseline.

Yeah no way I'd pay that. There's a lot more important things young kids need to put their money into so that we can get to those red seats some day. So i'll be happy in my back row.
