So you think Ole Miss will still take him?

but then again - there are Ol miss graduates who have never attended a class, so not sure that is really the relevant qualifier.

Ultimately, it's going to depend on how this shakes out over the next few weeks. In reality, once the police start looking into why it was that Kelly was already bleeding when this video was shot, those bouncers might regret calling the cops since it looks like they, in fact, might have been the ones that committed assault... http://deadspin.com/chill-bro-video-shows-chad-kelly-brawling-with-boun-1674046938

The fact that Freeze and Ole Miss haven't already come out with a public statement that they're moving on from Kelly tells you all you need to know about Freeze and the SEC. His QB situation must be really desperate.

Coach Morris liked him enough to recruit him heavily. Maybe if he could get Kelly at SMU with its religious environment, he could help the boy repent of his sins and become a good person (and a fine quarterback).

No. Isn't that the way June Jones did things. Jim Kelly/NFL connection - rehab project - arrest record. He could ad another scene in his movie about it. All he needs is a team to coach.

While I think that he is guilty, he deserves the opportunity to deal with this before he is punished. There is no need to rush into anything.

At a minimum he's guilty of being out drunk at the bar at 3AM, getting into conflict, resisting arrest, etc.etc. Supposedly Freeze vetted all of his 'issues' and wouldn't you think this type of thing is exactly what Freeze would have told him to avoid? Sure he deserves his opportunity with the legal system to keep his sorry butt out of jail, but he deserves nothing from Ole' Miss. People don't change, especially 18-20 year old kids. Run Ole' Miss, run.

I award you 10 points for this story... it reflects a wonderful mix of holier than thou and being uninformed.
