you are probably right on Line, but i think that happens over spring and summer. Will be interesting to see how they handle some of the incumbents.

QB - HIcks
RB - Nmelchi
WR - Joseph, Sutton, Proche
TE - Gaines
OL - Weeks, Brown, Lasecki, McCarty, Briggs

DE - Wood, Seals
DT - Minor, Reed
LB - Yenga, Ngola
DB - H. Richardson, JR Richardson, D. Richardson, Randolph, Wyatt

1) Davis will start
2) Gaines will be outside WR
3) Kmelchi will be lucky to stay on the team
4) Minor - see Klemchi

HB = H-Back, the psuedo TE position. Not a running back. More of a Full Back/Tight End Hybrid. The standard morris lineup has a running back, H-Back, QB, 5 linemen, and 3 WR.

The Flanker position really is a glorified RB who needs to be able run the jet sweeps and criss-cross counter

I predict at least 3-4 Receivers will be moved to different positions or transfer. Not what Morris is looking for

You will never convince me, based on what I saw last season, that Matt Davis will take another snap at QB. I might adjust to this lineup:

QB - Hicks
RB - Gresham
WR - Joseph
WR - Castille (wishful thinking)
WR - Sutton
TE/HB - Gaines

If we don't sign another QB he's going to have to at least start out at QB because about 3 of the other QBs can simply not be effective in the spread. He can run the basic run series offense but I doubt the Deer in Headlites look disappears in the passing game. We may just have to run a pretty one dimensional offense next year because we aren't going to have the true Dual Threat QB. I actually think his arm is sufficient for the job-its what is between the ears that is the problem

If Morris can turn Matt Davis into a quality QB then he gets the statue that ponyboy had pegged for June :)

Gaines doesn't have anywhere near the speed needed to play Outside WR. He will be an H-Back.

I totally agree with you. Watching him trying to get open on the outside last year was dreadfully painful. Go watch his HS highlights. He is the prototype H Back. At least his HS coach was smart enough to utilize him that way.

Hopefully confidence in the scheme and coaching can fix what's between his ears. If he's still shaky with the full compliment of throws in the offense, dumb it down to the throws he's comfortable with and skew the offense toward run vs pass.

If Morris isn't confident in Davis as a 2 year starter, then give Hicks a lot of practice reps and skew the offense toward pass vs. run, and see which one fits best with the OL/RB's/Receivers that step up and claim starting jobs. Not sure Hicks a true running threat?

Or if Morris is really good, and neither is the clear leader, he can figure out a platoon system to use the strengths of each until he finds his ultimate dual-threat on the recruiting trail.

You could actually put 2 QBs on the field at the same time in Morris' offense. How about the jet sweep pass option. They also run the jet sweep touch pass that Davis could run effectively

If 2015 is a throw away year from a W-L perspective then why not just roll with Ben Hicks? He's a guy that our new staff targeted immediately and had some pretty solid offers. Let him get his feet wet this year and not worry about our record.

Then what happens with Davis? It is crucial that he be on the field. Morris can't pull a JJ and let a talented player ride the pine

Re-watched Hicks video. Got same impression second time Seriously I don't know if I've seen a high school QB more comfortable in the pocket. He's got a great OLine but even when it breaks down he's calmly looking downfield for a receiver. You watch his film though its almost impossible to project him into the run series of the spread so I won't-just wait to see how he does. He really is calm in the pocket though. I'm beginning to think we may see a multiple QB situation. I can see Hicks winning starting position but with Davis playing a substantial role in the run series-which could be as high as 10-12 plays a game and possibly see Davis at multiple positions when Hicks is on the field. It may depend who we recruit for the Flanker position in this class. Can't wait to see how both QBs handle their "weaknesses" in a REAL Red Blue Spring Football Game
