NEW DL Coach

Postby ponyfanman » Thu Jan 08, 2015 12:22 pm

Coach Van Malone just tweeted a new DL coach is en route to Dallas. Any one know who it is?

Shouldn't this be titled Secret New DL Coach?

Ah yes- Sammy Sumo- used to be hell in the trenches and no RB dared get hit by him. Used to occupy at least 4 OL but past scrimmage he was a little slow.

That list is such crap. Scott Linehan and Steve Spagnuolo aren't on it. They make June look like Bill Walsh.

Forced to go with journeyman Bobby Hebert at quarterback and saddled with one of the league's worst defenses, Atlanta lost its first eight games and the second half of the season included a humiliating 59-16 rout by St. Louis and a 34-10 loss to San Francisco in a Monday night game.

Maybe remembering this experience is what lead him to bail two games into the season.

Jones would get another head-coaching gig two years later, even though he admitted up front that he didn't want it. "It's not my ambition to be a head coach again," he said after the Chargers fired Kevin Gilbride. But San Diego was stuck with Ryan Leaf and somebody had to be in charge. Jones played out the string and wisely took off to coach Hawaii after that.

Ironic that he put Mason through the same experience he had in San Diego.
