Considering the size of the senior class, and allowing for attrition for any of a number of reasons, I'd guess we have .... 15 or 16 scholarships to give this year. Using that as a guideline:
2 quarterbacks - Rhoades and either a stud high school QB if one wants to come, or a JUCO.
2 wide receivers - if we're going to run the spread offense, we always will need more guys on the outside who can make plays.
4 offensive linemen - Gonzalez and three more. At least two should be JUCOs.
3 defensive linemen - Two DEs and one DT. At least one, preferably two, should be JUCOs.
3 linebackers - at least two JUCOs who can step in and play right away.
1 defensive back - best athlete available.
1 punter/kicker

I would trade the kicker for another D-Line Tackle.
Of course I would.
Maybe a RB.

Until we know more about what the backup kickers and punters (I assume we have them, right?) can do, I thing getting at least one should be a priority. I don't think we'll fully appreciate McMurtray and Mentzel until they're gone.

I don't know that I have seen the backup punter practice, but I have watched the backup kicker before the game, and before the start of the second half......let's just hope he isn't trying too hard right now, cause most of his kicks seemed like line drives, ones that would barely clear a lineman's head.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

From what I've seen, Ryan Wolcott (grandson of the great Doak) mechanically is a very sound kicker. But in warm-ups at games and from the little I've watched at practice, he doesn't have nearly the leg strength McMurtray does. On extra points and short field goals, I'm sure he'd do well. On the mid- and long-range stuff .... let's sign another, just to be safe.

Are we in on any big names? Any five or four star football players, or an 3 stars, or someone with exceptional speed or size. Thanks.

I can answer your question without looking, NO, I don't even think we are even under consideration for any more 3-star players, if any, just 1 or 2 considering, not favoring us

HAH.. you're joking, right?
If not, that's why you're in sales & not coaching.
When is the last time a "DT" was carried off by the winning team?
The reason MacMurty is not getting props is because we dont get in FG position. He's a pretty good kicker.
