This talk is the problem with the 4 team national championship playoff. If teams start scheduling so they can possibly make the 4 team playoff then I don't think that is necessarily good. I want to see competitive matchups in nonconference and the players want to play those kinds of games too. Did you ever think even just 5 years ago there would be people complaining that Baylor only won the Big 12 in football 2 years in a row and that TCU would "only" be Big 12 champs too and that wasn't an accomplishment......and yet their fans and others would be unhappy? I say do what is best for your program and fans. SMU at 12-2 next year and Conference champs would be much more of an accomplishment to those who care than Alabama at 14-1 and National Champs.
