I googled it and see clemson and penn state as the winners in the 80's. How do we claim it? Obviously that is awesome I just didn't realize that.

There were about 10 different groups that named champions. We were named so by some obscure group or two. Would not hold up in a debate but could maybe win a bar bet.

In most cases, those who were awarded the obscure championships don't claim them. I believe the two 80's claims are due to a belief that our team was the best, just not a big state school and/or located in the east coast. I'll take them...know the football semi-trailer lists all 3 on it.

Still not a fan of the black uni and these look like the bengals unis kind-of. I did really like our chrome helmet we came out this year, one of the best looking chrome helmets I've seen.
