Forget about academics? Not sure if serious.
I believe the sentiment is, absent the argument over SMU having much better academics and the pressures that could cause, SMU is still positioned to be the best program and biggest draw in North Texas.
true but the way this coaching staff works its a team effort. Everybody works their [deleted] off. Everybody closes. Not 1-2 guys while the rest of the staff watches film and waits for the phone to ring in the office. What you are seeing right now is why I was sounding alarms even in June's first couple of years about his recruiting strategy. There were issues from Day 1
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Are all of theses recruits going to be able to get into SMU? How many will decommit before signing day? Chad Morris will be gone within two years then we are starting all over again. I could go on, you know....Lol

Sabin will be back to remind us that this staff hasn't flipped a single 5 star guy yet so that means Morris can't win here at SMU; Utah will of course second that notion

A lot of hand written notes from SMU on that wall. That my friends is how it is done.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Correct. It's a given were by far the best academic school in north tx, but we have so much more to offer that was simply being laid to waste and not marketed bc of a lazy football coach.
I'm calling it right now - Thomas has the biggest upside than anyone committed or that is on the current roster. Looking over his highlights and seeing his measurables, HE is the WR I've been looking for since ESanders (tall, fast, good hands, competitive, athletic as heck . . . add to all that the program he's coming out of - got great coaching and played against top HS competition). I think he will have a record breaking career at SMU assuming he doesn't get into academic or other kind of "trouble" (injury, etc). (I'm NOT saying he might, just saying).
