The line about the Houston fans storming the court is hilarious!

there is a lot of basketball to be played. Way too much to claim it is a two team race

I've said all season, this is a two team bid league. Whomever wins the conference, and whomever wins the tourney. If SMU wins both, then Tulsa or Cincy get a bid, whomever finishes higher. The only way the AAC is a 3 bid league is if SMU finishes second in conference and doesn't win the tourney. We are the only one who would be a 2nd at large.

I said the same thing before conference play and got blasted by several posters on this board....a couple of whom said the Big 12 was really not much better than the American. It's just a bad year for the conference but UConn and Memphis will bounce back.

UCONN and Memphis have to be good for the conference to be good....and they are both horrendous this year.

My comment was regarding the race for the conference champion. I agree we are a two bid conference this year - three if we are very lucky. There is almost no way for four AAC teams in the tournament.

I agree that the AAC is clearly down this year. However the teams in our conference have stepped it up in regards to the coaches so I think long term the current members have the pieces in place to make this a very strong basketball conference. I mean i expect ECU's and tulane to be pretty poor most seasons but there is no reason that memphis, uconn, cinci, SMU, temple, and Tulsa can't be good most years. If those 6 teams can always be good and Houston UCF and USF can go from terrible to mediocre we will have a really strong basketball conference. I-d like to see the AAC as a consistent 4-6 bid league.

If we play the first half UConn. They are pretty good in the second half.
