That letter says all ticket holders will be able to renew their current seats. Please explain how it is a "re-seating"?

Re: Mandatory viewing for current or future MOB hopefuls
Because they're going to significantly bump up the prices, thus forcing a lot of younger people out who simply can't afford the increase, so a bunch of blue hairs can jump on the bandwagon and knit in the stands. Read the [deleted] thread, or any of the many threads that were started about it. BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Mandatory viewing for current or future MOB hopefuls
A price increase is not a "re-seating" it is a price increase. Before that letter came out many were concerned about a true "re-seating" wherein some season ticket holders would not have the opportunity to purchase their current seats at any price.
Re: Mandatory viewing for current or future MOB hopefuls
But they didn't significantly jack up ticket prices for most people (I'm not 100% sure about the lower bowl, since that's out of my range); they only made your Mustang Club donation a "per seat" donation. But they aren't even really adding that, since it went into affect for this year. Existing season ticket holders were just given a waiver for 2014-2015. Once they dropped the silly reseating proposal, I think most people's outrage died down. I honestly believe the currently quoted prices (including donations) are pretty fair. There are even some sections w/ no required donation per seat and many others that are only $250/seat (+ $250 season ticket). The highest per seat donation in the upper bowl is only $500 (+ $400 season ticket), bringing the total to $900/seat for the most expensive upper bowl seats. ($180/seat is the lowest.) It's also not surprising... With their track record over the last 20 years, I'd be disappointed if their student section wasn't like that... 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, 5 Sweet Sixteens, 1 Elite 8, 15 conference championships, and 13 conference tournament championships in a 20 year period will build that kind of student and fan support. While they don't have the national hardware (no Final Fours and no NCAA Tournament Championships), it's arguable that Gonzaga has been one of the 4 or 5 most consistently strong programs in the country over the last 20 years... look at it this way... we're trying to get our 1st NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 20 years... they've only missed the tournament 3 times in the last 20 years.
Re: Mandatory viewing for current or future MOB hopefuls
Yep. Mark Few hasn't missed the tournament since he became head coach in 1999. Impressive as hell. And he's a smart man to recognize how good he's got it there, too.

I'm not calling you out at all, I just want to make a point. I sit in the 200s. I've found that if I stand up and yell, the people around me stand up and yell. When I yell things at the team, the guy below me and his wife (who are about 80) do the same. Lead and others with follow. If you aren't willing to lead and stand up and yell because you are afraid the others around you won't join in, then don't complain about the atmosphere. Its time to stop complaining, stop talking about the students, stop worrying about the band. Everyone on the board who will be at Thursday's game needs to take matters into their own hands, stand, yell, and make a ton of noise. Others WILL follow because EVERYBODY knows that it is a HUGE game. If the place isn't jumping on Thursday, then we all need to look in the mirror because we are the ones who could have made it happen and didn't.
