How dose this class help us?

Post by ponyte »

I am interested to better understand how this class helps us immediately and over the long haul. I assume some guys are instant potentials for playing and others will need more time.

Also, what gaps did we fill both immediately and over time.

Thanks for the insights as I am not an in depth follower of recruiting.

most importantly we added guys that WILL play significant minutes at EVERY DAD GUM skill position on the field. Thank god we don't have to watch what we did last year again. I can deal with young kids as long as they have long range potential

The biggest problem with this class is that none of the line men appear ready to step in as starters or even back ups. We can have all the offense in the world, but we still need an O line to block and D line where we remain very weak.

Thanks. Figured the skill guys could help right off the bat. Understand the time needed to develop linemen.

Any of these recruits moved from their current position to a different on in the fall? If so who might have a position change?

I think the Scott twins will end up playing at DE, at least Michael will- at 6'4 240 he has the frame to grow into a legit DE. Delontae is 6'5 200 at might be better suited in the future at LB or as a situational pass rusher.

And yes, we really upgraded the WR group and the RBs should both get time as freshmen as well.

Hicks could be the starter against Baylor, it will be interesting to see. I still think Davis will start.

Jordan Williams has got a shot to start at the star linebacker (hybrid lb/safety). I imagine Rodney Clemons will be given a shot at DB as well.

Obviously WR and RB were the big hauls in this class. I still think if KC can lay off the bong, he will get some good PT this year to give West and Jones a chance to grow a little and adjust to the college game.
