Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banExcluding themselves before the committee does it for them? Smart.
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banbet they wouldn't have done so if they were having a good year
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banYeah, it's pretty funny they are doing it this season.
I have never really liked Syracuse, although I like them more since they got rid of their racist Orangemen mascot. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banIs the ACC tourney included?
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason ban
The article I read seemed to indicate it was.
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banhah, skimmed through it pretty quickly and missed it
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banFrom the article
"The one-year ban includes the NCAA tournament, the ACC tournament and the National Invitational Tournament, the release said." But not the CIT I see, they can still go on a run like Doh.
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason ban
Maybe we should be proactive and self-impose a 2023 postseason ban now. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banPat Forde seems to think we might self-impose a ban, when we don't even have our hearing until over a month after the NCAA tournament is over.

Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banPat Forde is a senile old coot who need to retire. Enough junk already. At a certain point you have embarrassed yourself enough.
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banFrom what I understand, our NCAA hearing is to hear SMUs defense & impose punishment. They've already heard all the evidence
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banSince the NCAA moved through it's investigation so quickly, I guess that means either a.) there wasn't a ton to sift through, or b.) we were so sloppy that we're basically that criminal that robs a bank and sits down outside of it counting money until the cops arrive and see us there with a giant money sack and the alarm going off.
Or, hey, who knows - maybe because Syracuse is an ACC blueblood, and Boehnim is a college hoops giant (a crotchety one) - their investigation will take 7 years, but when that uppity SMU and compliance savant Larry Brown start dabbling. . .
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason banKnowing the situation at UNC, I think 7 years to impose a worthless punishment is lightening fast for the NCAA. I will say this for the NCAA, the Beloved Razorbacks did an investigation and did some 'self imposed' punishment that made a slap on the wrist seem harsh.
The NCAA didn't accept them and did hit the Beloved Razorbacks with a really, and I mean really, hard slap on the wrist. So the NCAA can add additional penalties when they want to. Of course if a program harbors, enables and protects a active pedophile, the NCAA will find a way to talk big and carry a soft stick. So Syracuse's violations amount to basically nothing. I mean its not like little boys were getting raped or anything.
Re: Syracuse self-imposes postseason ban
The problem is that the NCAA Rules Book doesn't specifically cover that sort of thing...hence no official justification for NCAA punishment. ![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
