I concur. I am glad we had Coach Mason. I am sure this last season was tough on him too. Time for us all to move on and upwards.

Anyone have a summary of where the other members of the previous staff landed? Are any of them around Dallas or even in Texas?

Nice that Hawaii could get someone with Pacific Ocean recruiting knowledge.

I've been curious about that as well. Hadn't see the news about Mason, but good for him. As for the others, the only ones I know about:
* Morrison - Retired
* Odum - DB coach at Oregon State (http://www.osubeavers.com/SportSelect.d ... SID=750127)

I am very pleased Coach Mason got a DC position. I do think he is HC material. Just not here (too much association with previous coaching staff). Mason had a vision for SMU very different from Jones. He worked hard in a horrid situation and some of the guys he and his staff recruited were in clouded by Morris. So he didn't abandon SMU while interim. coach.
