I'm a basketball guy all the way. We are ranked and have one of the biggest games of the year tonight and I'm on the football board. That would never happen in years past.

Love the enthusiasm but really? 10,000 more butts in seats would be more than double the butts in seats at any of our conference games.

Hope you're right, but......

Yeah...... if there was 3K-4K more per game, i think that would be a phenomenal start. We most likely aren't going to be a great team next year, and while we're all pumped about Morris and co, most people just know we were 1-11 last year and we got some new coach that's supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but wait how's that work out last time? Give it some time.

I know that is very optimistic but this program hit rock bottom. We now have the ultimate salesman running the show. I believe you will see a very strong marketing campaign soon with Morris leading the charge. In 2010 or 2011, whenever it was that we went to the Compass Bowl in Birmingham, our fan base showed up. There were probably more SMU fans at that game than we had at most home games the last two years. If Morris can get the fans to believe, they will start showing up.

If we get four wins I would be thrilled.
Not an indictment of CM, but just acknowledging the reality of what it will take to dig out of this hole.

Given our starting point I believe that 5 - 7 would represent very real and perhaps unobtainable progress. I DO think that Pony NATE-tion, if those columns are seen again, will have a good reason to be enthusiastic.

For attendance predictions, I think it will be better. The new dorms right next door plus HCCM should yield, I'm calling it, a 20% increase in average attendance (many AAC games will still be poorly attended). Folks will only show up if we win. I think we can starting filling Ford in about 2 years.

It'll be better than we fear and not as good as we hope. (which is a marked improvement from last year... )

That's about as far as I'll go in February.

This is the football board. We are talking football.

We are on a 1 game winning streak. One half of the teams in bowl games last season cannot say that. Half of the teams in this years playoff cannot say that. We are recruiting again. Silver linings abound!!

Davis fits the system, we now have explosive playmakers in skill positions, and the oline will be experienced. Struggles at DL and LB, I would expect some high socring games.

6 - 6, bowl.

Just because we have experience at O-line, doesn't mean they're not still pretty awful and the biggest area of concern on the team. Hope we load up on big boys on both sides in the next recruiting cycle.
