I still think SMU makes it to the big dance but I just don't know how far they will advance. This was not a bad loss. Cincinnati has a good team.

I totally agree with this. 58% for the game overall when they were contested and late in the shot clock? That is crazy.

We missed so many open shots early in the game, we could have been ahead by 20 in the first half and killed the game. We missed the opportunity.

One thing that changed was speed of ball movement. We really moved it around the perimeter quickly at the beginning of the game, but we stopped that as the game went on.

"We got out coached" in basketball is the equivalent to "our QB sucks" in football

ah Tony Romo Curse!!!!

It is tiresome

I thought we actually made some nice drives to penetrate the zone-but couldn't put it in the basket

Larry did get outcoached. Plain and simple. His unwillingness to change is going to bite him more often than not. Ben should not have many minutes right now and Kennedy needs to be full-tilt on minutes. I'd prefer not to see Ryan Manuel on the floor much and ride it out with Emelogu starting and Sterling. Get out in transition and beat teams down the floor. This team has ZERO players that can create their own shot and when the sets aren't getting people open, it's very difficult. The team is also struggling to knock down shots so they need to push the ball down the wing to attack IMHO.

OK you just walked way out on the plank with the Emelogu should play over Manuel? Seen every game-is there one SMU fan that agrees with that. Manuel hasn't been the problem-in fact has been an asset at least in last 10 games or so-not so much tonite. But he has settled into his role nicely-finally learned to play within his limitations. Manuel had 0 Turnovers tonite. Emelogu had 2 in a very limited role. 3 main Guards only had 2. Nick had that cross court pass and one that dribbled off his toe. That's it. Sterling Brown had zero Turnovers. We've cleaned up most of the turnovers from the current guards

Emelogu was rightly benched after back to back turnovers on some horrible decisions during the first half.

No way I play emelogu over Manuel in crunch minutes right now. Just need emelogu to sharpen his dagger.

Emelogu didn't forget how to play in year....he just needs minutes and to build some chemistry. This team hasn't had a chance to develop chemistry all year with players coming in and out. Emelogu or Manuel is irrelevant, MK should have full-blown minutes. I really disagree with his rotation and minutes right now across the board with the team.

He WAS out coached in the second half and even LB admitted it...this team is so damn soft, can't finish strong around the rim ( as Bill Walton used to say.."throw it down ..big guy") and has no one that can create a shot out of a broken play or in space on the court. And the perimeter defense?...it kills SMU every time...there is no friggin way you allow a very poor shooting team like that to get uncorked from the 3 point line...close them out strong, knock em down, hit them on the shooting arm and let em know the next time its coming again. There is just no mental or physical toughness from this team..they played like a suburban HS team vs. a inner city HS team in the second half. Cinci schooled em. Over.

THAT is the same game i watched. We may have lost this game in the second half but we definitely could have won it in the first. Blown chippys and missed free throws came back to haunt us. We literally held the door open for Cincy and they were good enough to take advantage....eventually.

Said this before and I will say it again: hardship transfers and guys who can play immediately (Jmart) don't seem to help us much. Guys who spend a year on the bench waiting it out do. It just seems that this has been a constant in the LB era.
