Signage for ESPN GamedayModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Signage for ESPN Gameday95% of the TV audience will just barely be aware we have a basketball team - they for SURE will not know we beat UCONN twice last year - therefore I think the wording on the Brian Williams sign really needs to be..
"When SMU beat UConn last year - TWICE" -I was there. That way you don't leave the newby with the wrong idea - that UConn beat us!! Trust me - this is a flashed sign for two seconds - they aren't going to get the nuance, they will just thing UConn beat us.
Re: Signage for ESPN Gameday"UCONN- where the women are better at sports than the men, and also have more body hair"
Re: Signage for ESPN GamedayI can only assume that they will be repeating the fact that we swept UCONN throughout the pregame...anyone watching (listening) will know.
Because we once again have no rep on the NCAA Selection Committee - If I were to bring a sign it would look like the following: ![]() "Moral Victories Make Me Sick" - TR
![]()
Re: Signage for ESPN Gamedayand the Rob Lowe is utterly fantastic
we also need our SID to just make some SMU regular fat heads and mustangs - so make sure we don't get taken over by others showing up to our game day. We should know....we have done it.
Re: Signage for ESPN GamedayThis isn't the sort of opportunity you blow. Be funny, Be Loud, Be Beautiful. The more fake tatas barely moving as blonde co-eds bounce up an down, the better
Re: Signage for ESPN Gameday
Good Points. I agree with this. No confusion about us beating them twice last year.
Re: Signage for ESPN GamedayHow about something like returning national champion champion.
Or #25 in the rankings, #69 for the tourny, #1 in our hearts (maybe without the gay ending)
Re: Signage for ESPN GamedayLB be sayin - "Cheer the right way"
Re: Signage for ESPN Gameday
Haha, that's great
Re: Signage for ESPN GamedayLooking at images from recent Gameday broadcasts, the signs basically consist of:
1) Basic school signs (like the basic 11x14 sign handed out at a football game) 2) Fatheads of athletes or random celebrities 3) Anything that can link anyone associated with pretty much anything to Justin Beiber (specifically, the hosts, opponents) 4) Varying levels of jokes about any school in the top 25 who has any issues or any recent success or make for easy jokes (aka tons of Jameis Winston, PSU, Alabama fans use ancestry.com like it's match.com, "this paper is worth more than an OSU diploma," etc) 5) Anything you can find that is negative or derogatory or just juvenile regarding Duke 6) Any chance to throw the word [deleted] on a sign, the best of which used the different letters in ESPN to spell: apEnis* apeniS* aPenis* apeNis* 7) Anything regarding liking or enjoying Nickleback ![]() 9) Any chance to say that any coach or Gameday host pees sitting down....probably the most prevalent sign out there, seriously. Most taken from football, because the basketball pictures consisted almost entirely of a few fatheads, a bunch of inside jokes, and school name signs. So, how about: "I don't always talk to UCONN fans, but when I do I order fries." "NCAA tournament committee declares Germany winner of WW2." And if you want true quality, look up signs from the Harvard v. Yale gameday. Pure quality...lots of formulas and references to finance classes that probably soared over the heads of 95% of the viewers but are funny as hell.
Re: Signage for ESPN GamedayPoints that the signs NEED to touch on:
1) SMU being undefeated against UCONN all-time (3-0 and 2-0 last year) 2) NCAA leaving us out of the tourney last year despite being ranked 3) Larry Brown and Godfather references 4) NCAA constantly hating on SMU (DP Of course we need to do this in a creative way but I think that's not an issue after looking at what has already been posted on here. Keep it up fellas

Another winner BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
