SMU beats the Aggies 36 - 23 in 68 with Chuck Hixson's passing, and Mike Richardson's running.

Also Jerry LeVias' great run back for TD against the Aggies in 66 to win 21 - 14.

Beating the froggies for first SWC win back from DP.

Thanks for posting that, PlanoStang! What a great day of memories for me! And the basis for my name on www.ponyfans.com!

Reading Bill McClanahan's cartoons every Friday morning in the Dallas Morning News was the way weekends began in the Fall!

Anybody know if there is a U.S. daily that employs a staff cartoonist that still does football/sports? Another McClanahan would be considerably more entertaining than those weekly prediction charts with the mugs of those wanna-be "sports writers". What's up with that? Who cares about Dale Hansen's or Calvin Watkins' predictions? Now, you could take McClanahan's forecasts to th' bank. Well, he missed by a little on SMU vs UT in '65. But I think that's the only one he ever missed! Can anyone name all of the mascot "nicknames"? (i.e. Evil Eye Amos)

The Herald Democrat in Sherman, Texas has a sports cartoonist that has had a weekly high school football prediction cartoon for the last four years.

Same guy is now doing them for the SMU Daily Campus on Friday's.

Seen today's issue?
