Tech uses same chant. Student section yelled it at SMU players' parents section in Lubbock.
They get my vote for worst fans.

I agree.... tech fans are horrible.

I yelled something like:
"Come back when you're ranked!"
"Great job! You can spell Cougars!"
*made a 2 5 gesture with my hands
"Check the scoreboard!"
"You're here for extra credit!"

Hope this didn't reveal my identity! Also hope y'all don't label me as classless too! I was refraining my self from swearing! :?

I was in 110, too, but across from 109. Man behind me yelled "Whose ball is it?" a couple of times when we stole it from them.

The "bullsh*t" chant whenever a call goes against you is just so lame.

If there were no Philly fans in Philly it would be a great place. Unfortunately, they have a jail in the basement of their NFL stadium. They booed Santa Claus. You never fly an opposing team's colors at a game in Philly or you'll get a beat down. When they travel, they start fights in every town. I took my wife to her first NFL game, my mistake it was a Monday night Redskins/Philly game in DC. Fights were breaking out all over the place. As we were leaving a drunk Philly chick came up to us in the parking lot and said she needed to relieve herself and could we block the view. Houston may be classless, but Philly fans are in a class all to themselves.

I still don't get that. How is Houston classless? In my experiences Houston might be the most friendly big city I've ever been to.. The people in Houston are friendlier than people in Dallas.

Redskin and Philly sports fans (more in general than just the Iggles) are some of the absolute worst people. Get them together and watch the sparks fly.

I think 1,000 - all looked dressed in red to blend in like empty seats :)

For those of you who were there, how many people showed up in total? Like 1,000? It looked like a barren wasteland on TV

How about these opposites:
Berkeley and Houston?
East Hampton and Houston?
Ames, IA and Houston?

Shame on UH students/fans for yelling that stuff. I enjoyed my "visiting" experience at SMU. We had maybe 20-40 fans. I sat in 208 with a bunch of SMU season ticket holders and they were quite nice despite my yelling for the other team. I'll bet SMU had no more than 100 at UH but it doesn't take too many fans if you sit together. The Coogs gave the Ponies a bit of a scare. Do we face each other again in the tourney? Last/first?

Several hundred Pony fans I would imagine. Thought we did a good job assembling behind the SMU bench. I wasn't at Tulsa, but I imagine it wasn't as forceful as Tulsa but we pulled out some nice chants in the second half. We were pretty quiet in the 1st half.

The fans were awful. But considering this isn't my first bad experience with Cougar fans, I'm not terribly surprised.

I have many good friends who are UH fans and not this way, but their fans take it to another level (down) at the games.

LA - I'm with you. Houston is a friendly city (been here the last 5 years). UH and Houston are not synonymous.

Last year, before our watered down meadows/fondren dwelling student section this year, we were rowdy as F. We were classless, costume wearing drunken idiots. The difference is, we were damn good, fun to watch, and the house was packed, so you're allowed to. UH shows up 1K half dressed in sailor uniforms and tries to act legit, which is a joke.

I was that guy when Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose were throwing OOPS off the backboard in our house though, so I can't really hate.

Oh god who cares

They're students. They say naughty words. Get over it - I assure you, ours do the exact same thing. Let's not go into pearl clutching mode.

I agree no need to knock Philly when comparing it to the toxic sewer that is Houston.

I'd say Houston is more like the Newark of the South.
Back off Warchild seriously.
