Adams transfer puts graduate transfer rule under scrutiny

Postby PonyTime » Thu Feb 12, 2015 10:59 am

Seriously? I suppose we were Eastern Washington's Farm team for a few years...

''We're Division I like the other level,'' Ash said in a telephone interview. ''Our guys need to start and finish at the same school. We cannot be perceived as a farm system or Triple-A ballclub or anything like that.''

Meh, I don't see these guys whining when they get drop-downs from FBS.

EXACTLY-its a fair and nice reward for kids that graduate

...and head coaches seem to be allowed to "transfer" to another school at the drop of a hat.

Isn't it about the kids? The players and creating opportunities for them?

 No. No they are not just like FBS. Scholarships limits and a massive difference in facilities make FCS a clear step below FBS.

What a crock whining about a kid who has graduated transferring elsewhere. He'd rather the kid go to the draft or quit football? B/c that's what would likely happen more often than not.

Also nice of him to just forget about all the FBS kids that transfer to FCS schools b/c they aren't allowed to immediately play if they transfer to another FBS school.

Coach is made he didn't get a cut, like when an MLB team buys the contract of a player from a foreign league team.

IMO the only reason the P5 might be considering this is b/c it will be one more way for for the traditional P5 powers to suck up all the talent thereby killing G5 conferences w/o having to say that is what they are explicitly doing.

A lot of kids go to G5 schools simply b/c they know they will get playing time much sooner. If it becomes a rule that you can't play your first year regardless G5s and a ton of non traditional powers from the P5 will suddenly lose a major recruiting pitch.
