Coach Brown is always giving credit to others. A far cry from what we would hear from June Jones who was always "I did this" or "I thought of that". Meanwhile, it was interesting to hear that the black shirts with the Carolina blue "FAMILY" was the players idea. I did flash back to our football team wearing black in the bowl game against Army to honor our military and how many bashed JJ for that idea. A bit of a double standard but I thought both were nice tributes.

As I recall, the black unis for the Army game were (deleted)'s effort to back door the team into black. HCCM may go with black unis, but he's playing it straight and the prototype looks pretty darn good.

It was stupid when June did that with his "dysfunctional" family of an SMU football team. Pure greatness last night.

Seriously? Thought you were a bit more than that, but I guess we all make mistakes.

Idea was to honor sacrifice, or is that too deep a concept for some of you? Guess it was't for Army 2010 QB Chase Prasnicki, who was KIA in 2012. Pretty sure there are others from that class as well.

I agree with all the comments that it was "not the same". My point was more along the lines of "it was a thoughtful thing for our coach and team to do". I thought the same thing about wearing black against Army even when others were so outraged. I had that same thought, i.e., some of these Army seniors might not be with us a year from now. I think JJ's heart was in the right place. It was his lack of work ethic and general attitude towards SMU (the little school that can't) that made most of us turn on him. My comment was just that when I saw the Carolina Blue Mustang logo, it made me think of the JJ bowl game tribute to Army and how very different our fans are going to react to Larry Brown and his team's gesture than how so many did to the black unis. Now, this might be a perfect Segway into about a 10 page discussion of uniforms...

JJ's teams never fared well against option teams

Last night Carolina blue honored a man of great integrity admired by many and a man not associated with our opponent. In the bowl game Jones chose black to honor our opponent, not the armed forces or the Army.
