Interesting to hear you say this. How so? Was in school in the mid to late 2000s and athletics was an afterthought, obviously, to pretty much everyone.
People just care about the campus sports a lot more than when me and Colorado were freshman. When we were freshman the ASU stuff happened and Doherty was on his last season, so by the time we finished our freshman year fan support was pretty much at an all time low. Now our basketball team is an everyday talking point for students (boys and girls) and football is starting to gain some traction. People take pride in being a Mustang, and now the UT fans on campus can actually get [deleted] on because they are on equal ground with us in basketball and aren't perennial 10 game winners in football anymore.
agreed. Everyday I walk into the fraternity house for lunch we are all talking smu basketball. It used to be we would talk about every sports team but SMU

Um, he actually said winning cures syphillis. The whole quote was 'Winning is hard. You have to work hard and pay attention to detail. Getting syphillis is easy and fun. That's why frat boys get it. And if you get it, remember, winning cures syphillis!'

CBSSports.com: Thursday's Viewer's Guide: Road games for bubble teams galore Sam Vecenie wrote:Second-best game: Temple at SMU (-6.5); 7 ET, ESPN2: This season, the Mustangs seem pretty safe with their gaudy record compared to last season due to a tougher slate. However, the same cannot be said for Temple, who needs to keep racking up quality wins in order to make the field of 68. The Owls come into this one hot, having won their last seven games and 12 of their previous 15. Will Cummings is terrific running the show, and Quenton DeCosey, Jesse Morgan and Jaylen Bond provide awesome secondary scoring around him. This should be a fascinating game to watch.

Buying tickets for coworkers for tonight's game on stubhub. Saw something really strange...a ticket in the band section. And its only $18. That's a first for me. Weird.

pretty funny. syphilis is spelled with one l as all frat boys know all too well. i heard it was gonorrhea but time has a way of distorting stds.

I saw Fat Albert at the 70's game. Is he making a return trip to Moody tonight to watch his alma mater?
