Favorite players I've ever seen in an SMU uniform (I barely got to experience the last NCAA team, so anything before that I'm excluding based only on having no experience, and I'm excluding anyone who played the last 2 years because I haven't finished forming my opinion on them):

Jon Killen
Damon Hancock
Jeryl Sasser
Quinton Ross ("The Q... Quentin Ross" was one of my all-time favorite announcer calls)
Willie Davis

Very little doubt that at least 2-3 guys from this year's team will be added to that list, and probably more. And even though Shawn Williams may not ever break my Top 5 favorite SMU players list, every time I see him at games and the way he always carries himself, I am more impressed. Hoping he has a long career somewhere as a coach.

Mangrum was waaaay underrated. Would love to have seen him play for Larry. He had some hops for sure.

Perhaps the most exciting I have seen was Reggie Franklin we ask him to be our version of David Thompsom. He was explosive in his jump and played very hard.

I loved Papa Dia

Ryan Maag. GOAT

Ryan Maag was severely underutilized during his career at SMU. Kid was a legend, and a champion at every level.

Some of my favorites....Kato Armstrong, Butch Moore, Carl Wright, Carlton McKinney and Larry Davis (except for that one moment where he did not block out on the Georgetown free throw).Perhaps my all time favorite, the great Ira Terrell.
