Can confirm that 2016 Houston Lutheran South WR Josh Shelmire has committed to #SMU, the first Mustang commit of 2016

well we won't have to worry about him qualifying or sitting as a mandatory academic redshirt-that's for sure. I like this kid- great height, sprinter speed (verified on track sites although not sure 4.35), production with 58 catches for almost 20 ypc and 11 TDs as a Junior and adjust well to the ball

Coaching staff hasn't commented on shelmire's commitment on Twitter. I wonder if this was a misunderstanding, I.E., not a committable

I realize it's still early, but even though we are his only offer, given CM's connections to Texas HS coaches & CM's work ethic, have much more confidence in this signing than prior coaching staff's 'only offer' signings.

They can't mention their names. The coaches can and have made general comments on twitter about SMU getting a wr comment.
