Not the same old ponies

Postby Zippy79 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 9:53 pm

I think these next few games are going to be serious indicators about this teams future. Your typical pony teams in the past would drop both games on the road and then probably win the final one at home and then have to hope Tulsa loses one of the games before they play us in the finale.

If this is a new year and we are truly a great team than we will win one if not both on the road and then stomp Tulsa in the finale giving us all the momentum in the world going into the AAC tourney!

I know we don't have to win the next 3 to win the regular season title and get the #1 seed but let's be honest, we really should go at least 2-1 and if we don't I will have a very bad case of déjà vu going into the conference tourney.

No backing in this year We NEED TO TAKE CARE OF BUISINESS!!!!

The oddsmaker the Memphis paper uses has SMU as a one-point favorite this morning.

Win 3 to close out as we should. Foot on the gas and pick up pace for NCAA time.

Beat Memphis! These seniors have never beaten them there. Let's send them out with a bang!

Leave no doubt indeed.

Win. The goal is simple. Just win. Tulsa has yet to complete collapse as hoped. Thus, to control our destiny and maximize our potential for a NCAA bid and better seed, we just have to win. Dominate through the entire season especially at the end.

This, I think we are good enough this year to go into Memphis and get a W. Time to show it.

Its kind of weird - last year we had better wins but also terrible losses. I think this team is better than last year. Hope we will see it over the last three games.

I think that is key, Treadway. A bad loss absolutely kills a resume, as we learned last year.

I think the big thing that blances out the fact we don't have that many signature wins is that we don't have any bad losses. We have only lost 5 games and all of them are respectable (ie ranked teams and tournament teams). Tulsa on the other hand lost to some really bad teams and they don't even really have the kind of respectable filler in their schedule. honestly there is a chance we will have played and beaten 4+ teams that will be in the bracket.
